Executive wine skills training
are executive wine skills mandatory?
Imagine you are in a position where you need to entertain clients at a nice dinner, and one of your primary clients is very wine knowledgeable. Are you confident enough in your wine skills and know-how to avoid potential embarrassment? Are you familiar with basic wine etiquette? Are you aware of the common mistakes non-wine people make that make dedicated collectors and oenophiles cringe (even if it’s only internally)?
Are you comfortable navigating a restaurant wine list? Do you know which brands and producers are “mass-produced” versus some of the great family owned wineries most serious wine people prefer? Do you know the right questions to ask to ensure you are choosing a bottle you and your guests will enjoy? Are you familiar with key wine regions and the grapes associated with them you are likely to see on a restaurant list?
Are you familiar with the differences between “by the glass” versus “by the bottle” options and the advantages/disadvantages of either? Are you able to sound knowledgeable about suggested wine pairings with various foods?
All these things and more are covered in this training.
the wine skills training you need
My “Executive Wine Skills 101” training is a chance for one-to-one interaction while you learn the basics of wine etiquette, major wine regions and their key grapes, how to navigate a restaurant wine list, and many other tips and hints so you look like a wine pro. While the course was developed with executives in mind, this training can help anyone become more comfortable with and more knowledgeable about the wide world of wine. It’s the best crash course you’ll ever take.
The training is typically given via Zoom, and there is flexibility for convenient timing on weeknights and weekends. I cover numerous insider tips and hints based on my expansive knowledge of the wine industry. Best of all, you are free to ask about anything related to wine in a comfortable, stress-free setting. We can even arrange to taste the same wine during the training to compare notes and gain a better understanding of how to “talk wine” when tasting it.
“It was easy to stay engaged for the full 1.5 hours, and I walked away with a better understanding of where different
wines are primarily made and how to best enjoy them. Highly recommend!” J.T. from Phoenix, AZ
